University of Alberta Faculty of Education seeks teacher feedback

(23-Sep-2005) The University of Alberta's Faculty of Education Council has created two ad hoc committees to review the current undergraduate teacher education program offered by the Faculty. These two committees entitled, the Principles Document Committee and the Program Evaluation Committee, were given the mandate to create a set of guiding principles that would frame and underlie the undergraduate teacher education program at the University of Alberta (Principles Document Committee) and to examine the current program and, if needed, use the newly created principles to develop a new or revised program (Program Evaluation Committee). The result of their work thus far has been the creation of an initial draft document of a set of program principles. The Committee fully believes that the creation of a set of underlying principles of teacher preparation should be a collaborative process and it is completely open and receptive to input from all those concerned.
