Local Represented at the Trade Fair

April 13 to 15, 2007

Colin, Ross and Robert welcome a former Memorial Teacher to our Trade Fair booth April 13th saw the opening of our annual Trade Fair booth at the Tri-Leisure Centre in Spruce Grove.  For the past number of years, Parkland Teachers' Local 10 has greeted guests and met old friends at this important event.  One of our first visitors was a former Memorial teacher who last taught in Parkland in 1964.

Parkland attends the annual Tri-Leisure Trade Fair in Spruce GroveThis event could not have been possible without the support of the volunteers from Parkland Local.  Our thanks go out to Political Engagment Officer Marie Gauthier who organized the booth, and all those who took some time out of their weekend to chat with the visitors to our booth.  It was great to see the number of teachers who dropped in as well.

The highlight of the event is the number of community members who drop in to say hello and find out just what we do. Last years' total of over 1500 visitors to the event was surpassed this year.  As these visitors toured all the booths, many entered our free draw. We had the opportunity to visit with community members and dialogue about recent events and the role of the Local.
